I have gotten to the point where I refuse to deal with them throughout the escrow process because I have been accused on numerous occasions for deals on houses not going through, when in reality – I was just looking after my client’s safety and wellbeing, as well as abiding by the NSW Fair Trading codes for Building Consultants – which is very important since the de-regulation of these laws which I have written on previously. Finding a building inspector since the laws have changed can be a dangerous – you must ensure that an inspector is fully insured and qualified.

My inspection reports are very thorough and I ensure that every imperfection is listed, as I like to say – every imperfection tells a story – and for all those Inspectors out there – don’t listen to the Realtor – listen to the Client.

When ordering your building survey, you have many different options – you could get a straight out building inspection, a pest inspection or a combined building and pest inspection. The combined of course being the most expensive, however the most comprehensive – and in my opinion – an absolute requirement when purchasing a house.
